Day 10 in Isolation

It's been a week since our last post. I'm informed that the world is a very dIfferent place than it was a week ago. It has been an abrupt awakening to the reality of what is taking place worldwide.
We are being looked after with great care by James - not being allowed to shop or go near anything that might possible be a source of contagion.
We do get out most days for exercise in the form of a long walk.
Who is this person? Glad to see all precautions are in place!
The area around Chiswick is quite interesting - as much as a metropolis can be interesting. Without the ever presence of vehicle traffic, the high street is a much more pleasant place to walk. All the main supermarkets are here, with orderly queues outside most during the day.
A statue of interest along the high street is that of the “father of British painting”, William Hogarth, a local resident of Chiswick.

Hogarth is perhaps best noted for his satirical works and his commentary on social issues of his times. His house in Chiswick was considered as his country retreat - with his Leister Square home as his town residence.
We have a number of options for our “allowed” daily walks. Chiswick House and Gardens is one of the good locations for this activity.
The daffodils are still in bloom with many of the spring flowers about to burst forth with colour.

Some lovely avenues are part of the garden landscaping.

Many different species of wildlife are ever present around the lakes and streams. The ubiquitous pigeons stealing the freshly sown lawn seed!
